Migración de dispositivo intrauterino a recto: extracción endoscópica

Abstract

The intrauterine device is one of the most commonly used contraceptive methods due to its safety and effectiveness. It is generally well-tolerated; however, complications such as expulsion, uterine perforation, and migration may happen. Rectal migration of the device is a rare complication, with few cases described in the literature. We present a female 21-year-old patient with rectal migration of an intrauterine device and its extraction through endoscopy.
