Neoplasia Neuroendocrina - No Neuroendocrina de Colon (MINEN): Unificando Conceptos
Abstract
Neuroendocrine neoplasms represent 1% of all malignant neoplasms of the digestive tract, of which 14-20% correspond to the colon and only 1-3% to rectal neoplasms. 85% of colonic neoplasms are poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas containing a non-neuroendocrine component in 25-40% of cases. An infrequent clinical case is presented, difficult to diagnose preoperatively, in a 71-year-old female patient with alterations in evacuation habits and pain in the lower left hemiabdomen. The tomography revealed a solid formation of 10 cm pam-parietal in recto-sigma associated with multiple hepatic lesions compatible with secondary disease. Surgical behavior was decided, performing left hemicolectomy with left salpingo-oophorectomy. We will make a brief summary of the different denominations and classifications that have happened to this entity in recent years.
