Resección extendida de tumor rectal por puerto único transanal (Tamis)
Presentación de caso
Abstract
Objective: To present the local resection of rectal tumor (T2) by Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery with a single port (TAMIS).
Case report: 93-year-old man with multiple past medical records, with a rectal adenocarcinoma (T2-N0- M0). A complete and transmural resection was performed by transanal approach (TAMIS), leaving the gap open because the lesion involved 50% of the surface of the rectal lumen. The patient had no intraoperative complications and was discharged on the 2nd postoperative day. In the endoscopic control performed at the nineth postoperative month, there was no evidence of local recurrence.
Conclusions: The complete and transmural resection using the TAMIS technique is a valid option for those patients with comorbidities that prevent radical surgery.
